African Black soap has fantastic antiseptic properties and is very gentle on the skin. It can be used on the face and body. It can also assist in the healing of skin irritations such as psoriasis, eczema and oily skin.
African Black soap is completely handmade with 50% shea nut butter, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and cocoa pod ash.
Traditional African Black Soap is handmade from Ghana (fair trade) using indigenous techniques passed down from generation to generation. The importation of this very popular and therapeutic soap, is now providing a source of income for the West African Tribes that produce it.
Black soap is brown to dark brown in colour and is very crumbly and delicate. It can easily be moulded into shape by applying pressure with the hands.
Black soap absorbs water very easily so must be stored in a dry location or sealed plastic bag. Do not let it sit in water or it will dissolve away.
Black soap exposed to air will form a natural thin white film over it. This is the soap absorbing water and is not mould.
Options for Shipping:
If you would like a zero waste shipping option, please leave a note at checkout.
Zero waste shipping will be a box or kraft bag and your purchase wrapped in protective brown kraft paper. There won't be any frills, no tissue paper, no ribbons, etc.
